Suzuki Early Childhood Education (SECE)

“An unlimited amount of ability can develop when parent and child are having fun together.  This is simple, but often overlooked.”

Dr. Shinichi Suzuki

This video, "First Character, Then Ability," shows what SECE is and does.  It offers views from parents and teachers on how these classes help to develop the whole child.

WHAT YOU DO

One of the things we believe is that Parental Involvement is Critical. You are your child's first teacher and her best support.  Your child looks to you for love and encouragement, and to be an active part of her exploration of the world.

Participating together in class strengthens the bond between you and your child, and develops a joyful working relationship that sets the stage for further learning experiences - be it doing housework, homework, sports, or practicing an instrument.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

    • Every Child Can Learn
    • Ability Develops Early
    • Environment Nurtures Growth
    • Children Learn from One Another
    • Success Breeds Success
    • Parental Involvement is Critical
    • Encouragement is Essential

WHAT TO EXPECT

Classes are held weekly in 60 minute sessions.  Classes are designed for one adult per child, providing each child with loving, one-on-one interaction.

We begin with a gathering activity set to music, then we get going!

We sing, dance, clap, march, count, recite nursery rhymes, and play instruments including xylophones, glockenspiels, drums, and more!

At the end of class you are given the opportunity to record some of your observations in a journal, so you can see and celebrate each step.
